Can Dogs Eat Garlic?
Garlic is toxic to dogs. It belongs to the Allium family (along with onions, leeks, and chives) and contains thiosulfate, which damages red blood cells. Garlic is considered 3–5 times more toxic than onions.
📋Nutrition Notes
Contains thiosulfate and organosulfur compounds that are toxic to dogs. All forms — raw, cooked, powdered, and supplemental — are dangerous.
🥄Serving Guidance
No safe amount. Check all human food labels for garlic powder or garlic salt before sharing with your dog. Even small amounts can accumulate and cause toxicity.
⚠️Risks to Know
Can cause hemolytic anemia, weakness, lethargy, pale gums, elevated heart rate, collapse, and organ damage. Symptoms may not appear for several days after ingestion.
Emergency Contact
